Emesis Rex

Cruisin’ 2012. This was my homage and synthesis of some of my two favorite artists, Ed Roth and Ralph Steadman.

So i’m usually compelled to come up with some sort of title. I’ts usually pretty easy cause I’m just describing the scene. It’s also fun to come up with something silly or funny. Anyways this one is and will probably remained Untitled because.. I never really felt the need to.

Sick Sad and Ugly. Basically how I feel when I’m not feeling well. 2012. This one took me a pretty long time. I started it got stuck and picked it up months later, at least twice. But sometimes patience pays off

Self portrait! 2012. first ever and probably last. I don’t like drawing myself It forces me to be reflective. I did this for a class. That’s supposed to be puke but it could also be pizza.

Rat Eat Rat. 2012. My friend Javier was tellin me about subway rats that get so big they can start eating smaller rats and live a pretty long time. Not sure how accurate that is but it sounds gnarly. Also not too different from people.

Lost Soul. 2012. My mom would often refer to homeless people particularly ones with mental illnesses as Lost Souls. I always thought this was fitting for some reason. I’m not sure what’s plaguing this particular soul but he totes looks like he’s been to hell and back.

Two space monsters beating the shit out of each other. Honestly what more could you ask for. Emesis Rex Meets The Pulverizer. 2012. So the name Emesis Rex existed before this actual piece as I sometimes use it myself. Originally I just wanted the Pulverizer, which is a character I thought of previously who’s basically just a space barbarian, beating the shit out of someone. Afterwards I see his opponent who doesn’t appear to be loosing that badly so I decided to name him too. Since he’s puking I figure Emesis Rex fits. 

Actually this piece along with a few other newer pieces can be currently seen at CCCP Gallery for like maybe another week. I guess I should have said something earlier.
